Woman shot in domestic dispute on west side
A 22-year-old man is under arrest and a 21-year-old woman is recovering after being shot three times Sunday afternoon during a domestic dispute between the two on Detroit's west side.
The shooting took place about 4:45 p.m. at their apartment on the 11300 block of Greenfield, just south of Plymouth Road.
Officer Holly Lowe, a Detroit police spokeswoman, said the two argued, and the man tried to flee.
The woman then allegedly pulled a knife and tried to stab him, at which point he pulled out a gun and allegedly shot her in the chest and left arm.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital. She was listed in serious condition Monday.
Police arrested the male suspect and have recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting.
