$2,500 reward for tips in woman's fatal beating in Detroit
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for tips leading to a suspect who fatally beat a woman near Detroit's Cooley High School this year.
Jodi "Diamond" Taylor had been seen walking with a man behind the site near Hubbell and Fenkell on May 15, investigators said in a statement.
A passerby saw the man fleeing about 1:30 p.m. then found Taylor "in distress, staggering and holding her neck," according to the release.
The 24-year-old aspiring nurse was transported to the hospital but died from her injuries, authorities said.
Police have since released surveillance footage and a composite sketch of the suspect.
If a tip leading to his arrest is received by midnight Wednesday, Crime Stoppers officials plan to add another $1,000 to the group's reward.
