A water main break was reported at Canfield Street and Cass Avenue on Sunday, the same street that was flooded by a main break two weeks ago.

Tiffany Jones, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, said Sunday night that the water main break was fixed earlier in the day and there were no current problems. Water to residents' homes had been restored, she said.

No information was immediately available about the exact location or cause of the break.

On July 28, the same area was flooded and the street and sidewalks damaged when a 30-inch main broke. A gaping hole was left on the historic cobblestone street.

The water department said crews would first excavate the area, then the historic brick pavers would be repaired as well as damaged sidewalks and lawns.
