Detroit EMS tech injured in hit-and-run crash
A Detroit emergency medical technician was injured after a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning on the city's northwest side, police say.
Police say the incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. in the 18000 block of Greenfield near West Outer Drive while the 27-year-old man was tending to a call.
The victim was standing outside the ambulance that was parked in the street when he was struck by a newer-model black Chevy Impala.
The front end of the vehicle hit the EMS technician, who hit the windshield then came down on the hood of the vehicle and rolled off, police said.
The Chevy Impala then fled northbound on Greenfield from West Seven Mile Road.
Police say the victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
