One teenager died and another was wounded in a double shooting Friday night on Detroit's northwest side, police reported.

A preliminary investigation found the pair had argued with several males at a local business before stopping in the 20600 block of West Seven Mile to change a car tire, Detroit Police Sgt. Nicole Kirkwood said.

Someone in another vehicle drove by at about 7 p.m. and fired shots, striking both youths, she said.

One, identified as a 16-year-old boy, was pronounced dead.

His 15-year-old companion was rushed to a local hospital. He was listed in stable condition Friday night.

Investigators are working to gather descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle involved.
