Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced a $2,500 reward Friday for tips leading to an arrest in a fatal shooting reported this week in east Detroit.

While visiting the El Capri Lounge near Mt. Elliott and East Grand about 1:55 a.m. Monday, Daniel Williams stepped outside to use his phone when "he would hear a voice call out to him just before being shot several times by an unknown suspect," investigators said in a statement.

Williams, a 40-year-old father and college graduate, later died from his injuries.

If Crime Stoppers receives information leading to an arrest by midnight, the group plans to add $1,000 to its reward.

Anyone with information can anonymously call 1-800 SPEAK-UP or go to www.1800speakup.org.
