A 38-year-old male is in temporary serious condition after being hit in a drive-by shooting Saturday night on Detroit's west side, police said.

The drive-by took place about 7:35 p.m. on the 4900 block of Maplewood, which is just south and west of the Interstate 96 freeway at Joy Road.

The victim was standing outside when two men in a red Chrysler Pacifica, believed to be  in the 2012 to 2014 model years, drove past and fired shots, before speeding off.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, and he's in temporary serious condition.
