Detroit police investigate fatal west side shooting

Detroit police are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found on the lawn of a home on the city's west side.

Detroit police spokesman Dontae Freeman said the incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Sorrento Avenue near Fenkell Avenue and Myers Road.

Investigators are still working to identify the victim, who is between the ages of 25 and 40, Freeman said. He was found shot mulitple times on a home's lawn, he said.

Medics transported the man to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on a arrival.
