The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged two men — Jeremy Cooler, 31, and Deangelo Alexander, 18, in a drive-by double shooting on August 24 that killed a 16-year-old male and wounded a 15-year-old.

At their arraignment Thursday morning, at Detroit's 36th District Court, both men were denied bond, and are remanded to Wayne County Jail as their cases are decided.

The shooting took place on August 24, at 7:15 p.m. Police were dispatched to the 20600 block of West Seven Mile to find the two victims wounded from the shooting. Medics transported both to the hospital, but the 16-year-old died. The 15-year-old had been shot in his arm, and has survived.

Police believe that Cooley drove the vehicle and Alexander drove.

Both men are expected to be arraigned Thursday on charges of first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, and felony firearm.

Their probable cause conferences are set for Sept. 13 at 8:30 a.m. and their preliminary examinations will take place Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m., both before Judge Kenneth King.
