A 31-year-old man was carjacked of his Jeep Cherokee on East Eight Mile early Thursday, police said.

It was about 6 a.m. when the victim was approached on foot by two armed men, both dressed in white-and-gray hoodies, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department. This was on the 15000 block of East Eight Mile at Gratiot.

The men put a gun to the victim's head, and while he struggled with one of the men, the other jumped into the Cherokee, and the two drove off with the vehicle headed southbound on Gratiot.
