Cyclist killed in Detroit car crash
Detroit — A 71-year-old man was taken to the Detroit Detention Center early Saturday after fatally hitting a cyclist on the city's east side, police said.
The crash happened at 1:48 a.m. and Mount Elliot Street and Mack Avenue.
Police said a man riding a bike on Mack was fatally struck by a man driving a 2004 gold Chrysler PT Cruiser. Police said the suspect was intoxicated.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The motorist was also taken to the hospital complaining of back pain after he was released, he was taken to the Detroit Detention Center.
