Police: Bicyclist killed by intoxicated driver in Detroit
A bicyclist was struck and killed early Saturday by an intoxicated driver on Detroit's east side, police say.
The victim, who remains unidentified, had been riding his bike on Mack Ave. near Mount Elliott at around 1:48 a.m. when he was struck by a 71-year-old man driving a 2004 gold Chrysler PT Cruiser.
Police took the cyclist to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect complained of back pan and was taken to the hospital as well before being lodged at the Detroit Detention Center.
