An argument between two men Wednesday night on Detroit's west side ended in one man being shot and the other wanted by police.

The shooting took place about 7:10 p.m. on the 5000 block of Joy Road, said Dontae Freeman, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department. The area just east of Grand River.

Freeman said the victim, a 43-year-old man, argued with a man police describe as a "known suspect." During the argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim before fleeing in his silver Ford Taurus.

The victim was privately conveyed to an area hospital, and is listen in temporary serious condition.
