Two lanes of Grand River Avenue in Detroit will close through Friday for repair work, state officials said.

Motorists can expect some delays.

The one-mile stretch of the road closed Monday between West Grand Boulevard and Interstate 94 to enable crews to perform joint repairs, Michigan Department of Transportation officials said.

The work is expected to cost about $270,000 and be completed by late Friday, they said.

One lane of Grand River Avenue will be open in both directions between West Grand Boulevard and I-94.
