Suspect in custody after fatal shooting on Detroit's east side

Detroit — Police have one suspect in custody Saturday in connection with a fatal shooting on the city's east side.

The shooting took place at 1:17 p.m. near Alter Road and Frankfort Street, near East Warren Avenue, police say. 

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the victim was found behind the wheel of his 95 GM Saturn 4D.

Police said an arrest was made and a weapon found at Southampton and Alter Road.
