Detroit —The body of a victim was found late Sunday in connection with a shooting Sunday on the city's west side.

Police said that at about 4:17 p.m, a male suspect pulled up to a location on the 7300 block of Prairie in a brown, four-door, Honda CRV with a 69-year-old male also inside.

Police were looking to locate a Brown, Honda CRV license plate DUL 3183 in connection with a shooting that took place on the city's west side.

Police said the suspect exited the vehicle and began arguing with a witness who was across the street. During the argument, the suspect produced a weapon and fired shots at the witness, who was not wounded, police said.

According to the witness, the suspect returned to the vehicle and fired shots into the Honda, police said.

The Honda and the body of the 69-year-old man were found in the area of Vancover and Military, police said in an update to the shooting late Sunday.

The suspect was taken into police custody a short time after the shooting after he returned to the address on Prairie on foot. A weapon also was recovered, police said.
