Man fatally shot sitting in SUV

Detroit — A 25-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times on Saturday night as he sat in the passenger seat of a sports utility vehicle, police said.

Detroit Police said a witness told them the man was sitting in a blue 2010 Dodge Journey in the passenger seat when a dark colored Pontiac drove up to Somerset, between Frankfort and Southampton, and an occupant in that vehicle fired shots into the Journey.

The witness, who was driving the Journey,  took the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
