Detroit police are working to find an alleged serial sexual assaulter reportedly attacking women on the city’s west side this year.

Investigators allege after a woman picked up a man about 1:35 a.m. Sept. 10, the suspect assaulted her and tried to force the 22-year-old to drive somewhere else.

"In an attempt to get the suspect out of her car, the victim crashed her vehicle into a parked car near the Southfield Freeway Service Drive and Lyndon Street," authorities said in a statement. The suspect fled, police said.

Police believe the same person attacked three others on March 29, July 15 and Aug. 30. The victims all were in their 20s, and at least two communicated with the suspect through a social media dating site, according to detectives.

To spur tips, city officials on Tuesday released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as 26-30 years old, 5-foot-6, 150 poundswith a black beard.

Anyone who has seen him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Sex Crime Unit at (313) 596-1950. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
