A 20-year-old man was found slain in a vacant home early Wednesday morning on Detroit's west side, police said.

The fatal shooting was reported about 4:22 a.m. on the 9000 block of Evergreen, said Dontae Freeman, a Detroit Police Department spokesman. That's north of Joy Road.

Police responded to a call of shots fired and arrived to find the victim inside a vacant home, having been shot multiple times.

The victim died at the scene, Freeman said.

Police describe the suspect only as a male wearing blue jean shorts and a white T-shirt. He drove a small black sedan.
