Michigan State Police investigated a shooting Friday morning after a driver shot at another motorist on I-94 near Brush Street in Detroit following a crash, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 6:20 a.m. in the westbound lane of the freeway, which was down to one lane early Friday as authorities investigated the scene.

"We got a call from a motorist that they're involved in a crash where the other party shot one round at them, or at their car or in the ground," said MSP spokesman Mike Shaw. "They weren't quite sure where it was going to go."

All lanes reopened in the area around 7:40 a.m.

No one was injured in the incident but troopers arrived on scene and took everyone into custody, Shaw said.

"Detectives are currently investigating what happened," he said Friday morning.
