Detroit —  A double shooting on Saturday night left one man dead and a second in critical condition near the city's east-side riverfront.

The shooting took place on the 11800 block of Freud, which is between East Jefferson and the Detroit River.

Police say a 56-year-old man died after being shot in the back, and a 63-year-old man was left in critical condition after being shot in the chest.

By the time police arrived, the victims were already en route to the hospital. The circumstances preceding the shooting are not immediately known, and no suspect description is immediately available.
