Detroit — Detroit police are looking for two  male suspects in connection with the carjacking of a cab driver Wednesday on the city's west side.

The incident occurred at 4 a.m. when a 51-year-old driver parked his Checker cab vehicle at a Green Light gas station in the 14000 block of Linwood, police said.

One suspect approached the driver at the gas pump with a handgun and ordered the driver to hand over his valuables. Another suspect approached from behind, took the man's keys and fled from the gas station in the cab.

The first suspect returned to his vehicle, a black 2017 GMC Terrain, and followed the other suspect in the cab. The driver was not harmed.

Police said the first suspect is between about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored jogging pants, armed with a handgun. The second suspect is wearing a gray hoodie and green gloves.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information should contact the Detroit Police Department's 10th Precinct Investigative Unit (313) 596-1040 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
