Woman shot after rejecting man's advances
Detroit — A 22-year-old woman was shot in her right shoulder early Sunday after rejecting the advances of a man who had approached her outside of a club, police said.
The shooting took place about 2:30 a.m. outside of the Caribbean Club, which is in the area of McGraw and Tarnow. That's north of Interstate 94 on Detroit's west side.
Police say the victim was sitting in the rear of a 2009 silver Jeep Liberty, when a man, 40 to 45 years old, wearing a blue shirt and black pants, approached and tried to talk to her.
But the woman demurred and the driver of the Liberty drive off.
Police say the suspect then fired a round through the Liberty's passenger side door, hitting the woman in her right shoulder. The driver took the victim to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
