Detroit — Eight Detroit school children as well as an adult and a teen were transported to area hospitals Monday after a school bus and a vehicle collided on the city's east side.

It appears as though no one was seriously injured.

The crash took place at about 8:30 a.m. on East Lafayette between Chene and St. Aubin, police said.

Few details were immediately available.

Dave Fornell, deputy commissioner of the Detroit Fire Department, said EMS responded and transported eight children to Children's Hospital for evaluation for "precautionary reasons."

The unidentified adult driver of the other vehicle and a 15-year-old child were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital for evaluations, Fornell said.
