Detroit — Police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old man who was gunned down in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon outside of a coney restaurant on the city's west side.

The fatal shooting took place at about 4:35 p.m. outside of the Mark's-A-Eagles Coney Island on the 12700 block of Puritan, just west of Meyers.

Officer Dan Donakowski said the victim and another man in his 50s argued. Sometime during the argument, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots, leaving the victim dead near the restaurant's doors, Donakowski said.

Police are on the lookout for the suspect, who they say wore a dark-blue shirt with an orange D on it, army shorts, white socks and black and white Air Jordan gym shoes.
