Suspects sought in west Detroit thefts

Detroit police have released surveillance images of suspects in two thefts reported on the city's west side this month.

In one incident, a man tossed a large boulder through the front door at a business in the 18000 block of West Seven Mile on Oct. 5 then stole clothing and a register with no cash inside, investigators said in a statement.

A man was caught on camera breaking into a store Oct. 5 in the 18000 block of West Seven Mile.

Anyone who recognizes him or has information can call the Detroit Police Department’s Eighth Precinct Investigative Unit at (313) 596-5840. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK- UP.


Another theft was reported about 11:45 p.m. Monday at a Project Green Light gas station in the 19000 block of Plymouth.

"Suspect one flashed the handle to a handgun," city officials said. "Then he took miscellaneous items from the store while suspect two held the door open."

Two men are wanted in connection with a larceny reported Monday night at a Project Green Light gas station in the 19000 block of Plymouth.

The first suspect is described as an African-American man, 20-25 years old, last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black gym shoes.

The second is described as black, 25-35, last seen wearing blue jeans with black and white gym shoes.
