Detroit —  Three people were shot, one fatally, in a drive-by on the west side early Sunday, police said.

The triple shooting took place about 2 a.m. on the 20000 block of the James Couzens Service Drive to the Lodge Freeway, south of West Eight Mile and east of Greenfield.

Four victims, ranging from 21 to 29 in age, had left a club and were heading downtown.

They noticed a white Ford Fusion riding alongside their vehicle, playing loud music.

Then shots rang out from the Fusion, striking three of the four people in the victims' vehicle. The fourth victim, a 29-year-old man, was able to flee the gunfire on foot.

The three others did not. Killed in the shooting was a 27-year-old man. Also shot were a 24-year-old man now listed in critical condition, and a 21-year-old woman now listed in serious condition.

No detailed description of the shooter, or license plate for the Fusion was immediately available.
