Girl, 14, shot in head at west side home
Detroit — A 14-year-old girl was shot late Sunday night in the living room of her home on the city's west side and now police are on the lookout for the three men spotted "running down the street firing weapons" near the scene.
The shooting took place about 10:30 p.m. on the 19000 block of Appoline, which is just south of West Seven Mile and west of Meyers.
Police say the victim was sitting in her living room when she felt pain and realized she'd been hit in the temple of her head by a stray bullet.
Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, and she's listed in stable condition.
Police say that three men were spotted on the street, running as they fired weapons, but no detailed description was immediately available.
