Detroit — A 50-year-old man died in a dwelling fire early Monday afternoon on the city's west side, and the early belief is he died of smoke inhalation.

The fire on the 1000 block of Glynn Court was called in at about 12:30 p.m., said Dave Fornell, a deputy commissioner of the Detroit Police Department. That's north of Chicago Boulevard and east of the Lodge Freeway.

Arson investigators will work to determine the cause of the fire. The Wayne County Medical Examiner will determine the victim's official cause of death.
