Wayne County prosecutors have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with the sexual assault of a student at Detroit's Central High School.

Investigators allege the teen stole two cellphones from the victim’s desk at about 3 p.m. Oct. 8, and when she followed him into a hallway to retrieve the items, he grabbed the girl by the neck, "choked her, pulled her down the stairs and sexually assaulted the victim."

The teen has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and larceny under $200.

He faced a hearing Thursday at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility before Referee Leslie Graves, who set his bond at $25,000.

A preliminary examination is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 26 before Judge Virgil Smith at the Lincoln Hall of Justice in Detroit.
