Detroit police are working to identify two people wanted in connection with a shooting that critically wounded a man this week on the city’s west side.

Investigators reported the victim argued with the pair about 7 p.m. Tuesday at a liquor store in the 20000 block of West Seven Mile. During the argument, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and pointed it at the 26-year-old, authorities said in a statement.

The suspects eventually walked out of the store but kept arguing with the other man then followed them, according to the release.

Police allege the armed suspect fired a shot at him before he and his companion fled on foot south on Heyden.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Friday.

City officials have released surveillance footage of the suspects.

One is described as 6-foot-tall,  weighing approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red baseball cap and dark blue jeans.

The other is described as having a goatee, weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and dark pants.

Anyone who recognizes them or knows their whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Eighth Precinct at (313) 596-5840. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
