Officers were called to reports of a teen shot.

Detroit — A 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Thursday on the city's east side, authorities say.

The incident occurred near Chalmers Street and Promenade Avenue about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

A preliminary investigation found that the teen had been shot in the 10000 block of Chalmers and made his way down the street, where officers responded and found a 1998 Buick that showed multiple bullet holes, Officer Holly Lowe said.

The teen was transported to a hospital. He was listed in temporary serious condition.

The youth did not provide a description of a suspect, and no other people were reported injured, Lowe said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-2260. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
