Detroit — An early Sunday morning fight on Michigan Avenue in Detroit ended with a 40-year-old man being shot in his leg, police said.

The shooting happened about 4 a.m. on Michigan Avenue at Burton, which is just west of Livernois.

Police say the victim was leaving a business in the area and saw two people fighting.

As he got into his car, the victim heard shots fired, "observed" people firing weapons, then realized he'd been shot in his left leg, below the knee.

The victim then drove home, and his wife drove him from there to the hospital. The man was listed in stable condition Monday.
