Detroit police said the three children who were believed to have been taken by their mother Wednesday, who does not have custody, have been found.

Police officials only would say Thursday afternoon: "The children have been recovered and are fine."

On Wednesday, police asked for the public's help to find London, Demario and Noel Davis, who were last seen about 4 p.m. in the 2000 block of Iroquois at school when their father went to pick them up, investigators said in a statement.

Their mother, Tasha Davis, who also was at the school and "stated she wanted the kids to spend her birthday with her, so she took them without his permission," the release said.

London was last seen wearing a Superwoman costume and a green jacket.

Demario was seen wearing a spider man costume with a black and gray jacket.

Noel was last seen wearing a superhero costume with a black and a gray jacket.

Anyone who has seen the children are asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Seventh Precinct at (313) 596-5740.
