Detroit — Police are on the lookout for a man accused of killing his cousin after a dispute at a birthday party early Sunday on Detroit's west side.

The homicide took place about 5:20 a.m. Sunday on the 2000 block of Glynn Court, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman. That's north of Chicago Boulevard and west of the Lodge Freeway.

Police say the victim, a 40-year-old man, was celebrating his wife's birthday at another location when he got into a dispute with his cousin, who is described only as a man 30 to 40 years old.

The dispute carried over from the party back to the home on Glynn Court, at which time the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and fired shots, killing the victim.

The suspect then fled the scene.
