Detroit — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating an alleged firebug whose exploits were caught on camera in early May.
Police say the break-in and arson took place at a business on Detroit's east side, on the 2000 block of East Seven Mile at Kelly, early May 5.
At 3:24 a.m., the suspect, a thin white male wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants, approached the front of the store carrying a rock balled up into a paper bag, and what appears to be a can of gasoline.
The video shows the suspect throw the rock several times at the front door, eventually breaking its glass. Police suspect the man then entered the location, set in on fire and likely left through a back door.
Police ask that anyone with information on the arson call the arson unit at (313) 596-2900.
