Man gunned down in Jeep on west side

An unidentified man was found slain inside a Jeep, with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

Detroit — An unidentified man was found slain late Sunday night in a car on the city's west side, police said.

Officers were called at about 10:15 p.m. about a shooting victim on the 11300 block of Mendota, which is south of Plymouth Road and west of Wyoming.

They arrived to find the victim inside a Jeep, with a gunshot wound to his head. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The victim's age and the circumstances behind the shooting were not immediately available.
