Detroit — A woman accused of running over two people Sunday night on Gratiot Avenue has turned herself in to Detroit police, officials said.

Police say the alleged hit-and-run took place around 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the 14000 block of Gratiot, which is south of East Seven Mile.

At the time, several people were grouped together and arguing when a red Dodge Dart tore through the crowd, running over two women before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

The victims, ages 42 and 43, were both left in stable condition. The 25-year-old female suspect turned herself in to the Detroit Police Department's sixth precinct, officers said.

The investigation is ongoing.
