Detroit — An unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, died Thursday morning after being shot multiple times while sitting in his car on Detroit's east side, police said.

The fatal shooting took place about 8:55 a.m. on the 20000 block of Moross, near Interstate 94, said Dontae Freeman, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.

Police say the victim was sitting in a white Mercury Grand Marquis when a vehicle, possibly a black Jeep Wrangler, pulled up alongside, and someone inside fired shots. He did not survive his injuries.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
