1 dead, 1 wounded Friday in east side shooting

Detroit — An early Friday morning shooting on the city's east side has left an 18-year-old man dead and another man injured, police said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the shooting happened at about 12:07 a.m. in the 11900 block of Laing near Kelly and Morang.
Police said the two men, ages 18 and 22, were sitting in a red Nissan Pathfinder when a vehicle drove by and someone inside fired shots at them.
Both men were struck by bullets.
The 18-year-old man was privately conveyed to a hospital where he died in the emergency room, officials said.
The other victim was taken to a hospital by medics and is listed in stable condition.
Police said the officers continue to investigate.
