Police: Detroit man fatally shoots brother-in-law

Detroit — A 37-year-old Detroit man is dead after an argument led to a shooting Monday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at about 7 p.m. in the 7000 block of Dexter Avenue near West Grand Boulevard and West Grand River on the city's west side, according to authorities. 

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was visiting the home of his brother-in-law, 39, when the two got into an argument, officials said.

During the fight, the victim's brother-in-law produced a weapon and shot the other man, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

 Officials said the suspect is not yet in custody and the investigation continues.
