Detroit — A late-night argument, fueled by alcohol, turned violent on Detroit's east side, leaving a man in his 20s wounded and a 60-year-old man under arrest, police said.

The shooting took place about 11:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Lakeview, said Officer Holly Lance, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman. That's south of Kercheval and west of Chalmers.

Police say the victim, a 23-year-old man, and the suspect were drinking together when they began to argue. The two men are related.

That's when the older man allegedly pulled out a weapon and shot the younger man. After being taken to the hospital privately, the victim was listed in stable condition.

Police recovered the gun believed to have been used in the shooting, Lance said.
