2 arrested in connection with illegal dumping on Detroit's west side
Two men have been arrested in connection with illegal dumping on the city's west side, Detroit police said Friday.
A tip from a pastor of a church near the 17600 block of Joy Road brought the dumping to the attention of the Detroit Police Department.
July 13 surveillance video at the church caught the two men "exiting a U-Haul truck and dumping a large amount of debris in the rear alley," according to a statement from police.
Police investigated, obtained warrants and were able to identify both of the 20-year-old suspects.
Both turned themselves in on July 22.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged each man with one charge of Littering on Private Property.
