Shooting victim DOA, woman leaves hospital

Just before 3:15 a.m., a woman dropped off a 42-year-old man at a Detroit hospital.

The victim had been shot in his back, police believe, on the 8000 block of Second, north of West Grand Boulevard and west of Woodward in New Center.

But by the time he arrived at the hospital, he was dead. Police attempted questioning the woman who drove him there, but she left the hospital. The circumstances preceding his death are unknown as police begin their investigation.

About 90 minutes later, at 4:40 a.m., on the 19000 block of Goulburn, two men in their 20s were shot while searching for a lost cellphone on the city's east side. That's south of East Seven Mile and west of Schoenherr.

The victims are 20 and 22-year-old men. A witness saw one of the victims approach two other men, and then shots were fired. The 22-year-old man ran away, screaming that he'd been shot. He was hit in his left knee and leg.

The 20-year-old man ran to his aid and was shot too, in his right leg. Both were privately conveyed to an area hospital, both are listed in temporary serious condition.

Police offered a detailed description for one of the two gunmen: black male, 6 feet 3 inches tall, with medium build, dark complexion and dreadlocks. He was armed with a handgun at the time.

The second man was armed as well.

After being privately conveyed to the hospital, he was listed in stable condition.

Man 'uncooperative' after being shot in back

In the first of two shootings in a 15-minute span on Second, a 36-year-old man was shot in the back just before 3 a.m. at Second and Pingree. That's south of Clairmount and west of Woodward.

After being shot, the victim drove himself to the hospital, but police say he is "uncooperative" and has not provided any information on the shooting. His condition is pending.

One suspect description was available: a light-skinned black male, about 215 pounds, with a mustache and a goatee, all-black clothing, a gold chain, and a black handgun.
