Detroit authorities are seeking tips to find two suspects wanted in connection with a pair of high-profile crimes this month, including a police pursuit that ended in gunshots fired at officers.

Authorities identified Raymond Stewart as driving a Honda Pilot on Tuesday with a 22-year-old man on the run after a carjacking of an off-duty Harper Woods police officer that morning.

Police tried to pull over the car but Stewart drove off; during a chase, his passenger "produced a weapon and fired multiple shots at the officer’s vehicle," investigators said in a statement Friday. "The officers did not exchange gunfire. However, the suspects fled from the officers."

The passenger was later arrested in the 2500 block of Norman. Stewart, described as a 41-year-old, heavy-set 5-foot-10 man, remains at large.

Raymond Stewart was identified as driver in chase this week and a carjacking this month.

Investigators also believe Stewart is connected to a carjacking reported Aug. 2 outside a store on the 2300 block of Gratiot.

He and a masked man are accused of robbing at gunpoint two people sitting in a white GMC Yukon in the parking lot.

Stewart allegedly fled in the SUV while the other suspect left in a black Ford Fusion that had pulled in front of it, police reported.

Investigators have identified the second suspect as Keith Walls, 31.

Keith Walls was last seen wearing a tan mask, blue hat, white shirt with black and red graphics, black pants and black and white shoes.

Anyone with information on Walls or Stewart is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Commercial Auto Theft Unit at (313) 596-2555. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
