Detroit police released surveillance images Tuesday of a suspect in several store break-ins.

A security camera captured the man swiping cigarettes behind a counter and cash from a register early Aug. 5 at the Asmar party store  near the 16000 block of Seven Mile, investigators said in a statement. Authorities believe he has broken into the business twice.

The man also is accused of using a ladder to climb into Universal Liquor & Wine in the 19000 block of Grand River early on Aug. 11. He was filmed stealing cigarettes and multiple liquor bottles at the retailer, which has been broken into three times, police reported.

Anyone who recognizes him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Eighth Precinct Detective Unit at (313) 596-5840. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
