Man critically stabbed in downtown Detroit, 2 arrested

Detroit — A 31-year-old is in critical condition Saturday after he was stabbed in downtown overnight, police say.

The incident occurred at 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Lafayette where the man was stabbed by two suspects, police said.

Crime tape was placed outside American Coney Island across from CrossFit center after the stabbing occurred Friday night.

The circumstances of the stabbing are unclear, police said. The victim came out of a business with stab wounds to his body. 

An officer that was outside of the location immediately took him to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

A knife was recovered by officers and two suspects were arrested at the scene.

The suspects are 21 and 23 years old. They were arrested at Shelby and Fort Street.
