Police: 1 shot, 1 arrested after man fights with mom's friend

Detroit — An argument between two men on Detroit's east side late Sunday night ended in gunfire and an arrest, police said.

The shooting took place about 8 p.m. on the 20100 block of Moross, north and west of Harper, said Bryan Warrick, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.

Police say the victim, a 28-year-old man, argued with a 49-year-old man police believe is a friend of the victim's mother. 

During the dispute, the older man went to the lower level of the home, shot the victim, and fled, police said. The victim was takento a hospital and listed in temporary serious condition.

The man turned himself in about two hours later, police say, and is lodged at the Detroit Detention Center, pending charges.
