Detroit — A "box with wires sticking out" found early Thursday morning at the McNamara Federal Building in downtown Detroit was found to not be explosive by the Detroit Police Department bomb squad, police said.

The box was reported just before 1:45 a.m. The Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building is on the 400 block of Michigan Avenue, west of Cass.

Police found the box near the building's front lobby. 

They blocked off the area and requested assistance from the bomb squad, which arrived and found that the package was not explosive.
