Detroit police are seeking a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a woman on the city's east side.

Medics made the scene after a call about an unresponsive male at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 80 block of Arizona.

While the medics rendered aid to the man, who was in his 50s and later pronounced dead from what were believed to be natural causes, a man took a woman in her 20s into a bedroom and stabbed her before leaving, police said in a statement.

Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Darius Calhoun. He is described as 5-foot-11, 250 pounds, with brown eyes and a medium-brown complexion, last seen wearing a black T-shirt with blue jeans.

Police released Darius Calhoun's mugshot late Monday to spur tips.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (313) 596-2260. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
